Recharging a car battery is a process to ionize the chemical compound in the battery, For a lead acid batteries, when it is fully charge the liquid inside the batteries is highly acidic that means the chemical energy is ready to use.

Part 2

First step, open up the six nuts by a coin or screw driver, some of the battery may different from this type that can using your hand to screw it out.

Refill your car battery with battery water for lead acid battery, do not over refill the batteries because this may cause leaking for the batteries. For Lithium Batteries there is no require any water batteries to refill.

Don't over refill your car battery water

The picture show my car batteries charger on the table, now look for a place to start charging

Connect the anode terminal of your charger to the positive anode terminal of your battery, then follow by connect the cathode terminal of your charger to the positive cathode terminal of your battery. Power on the charger and wait for charge up.

How long I need to charge the car batteries?

It is depend on your capacitance (in Ah unit ampere per hour) of your car batteries and the charger supply power to the batteries (A in ampere). Different type of charger supply different current so read your charger menu for help. The capacitance of your batteries normally label on the batteries in Ah. For example, my car batteries capacitance is 45Ah and my charger supply 2.5A so take 45 Ah divide by 2.5A will be 18 hours. That means you need 18 hours to charging up a complete dead batteries.

Don't overcharge the batteries because it will damages your batteries and keep the nut open for the batteries in order to avoid explosion for the batteries that cause too much pressure inside the batteries.

During the charging process small amount of the liquid inside the car batteries will splash out so keep your eye away from the car batteries. Bubble will spot in the opening of the car batteries.

After charging up, close the nut carefully and clean the surface of your battery by using dry paper or unwanted cotton.

Note :
  •  For a fully charge battery, liquid inside the battery is highly acidic. Should any acid splash onto hands or clothing, wash off immediately with soap solution. Should any acid splash into your eye, wash it out with clean water immediately(15 minutes) and seek for doctor advise.
  • Do not charge the battery inside your house, because when charging the battery will release explosive gases that will cause flame and sparks
  • Disconnect the equipment from the main supply before you connect or disconnect.
  • Do not charge more than 1 battery for a single charger at one time.
  • Wear safety goggles and gloves when charging the battery.
  • Keep the charging environment away from flame and sparking.
